Methods Of Dissolving / Altering Marital Status

A marriage is dissolved, restoring spouses to “single” status, by the death of one of the parties, a judgment of marriage dissolution, or a judgment of nullity of marriage. Alternatively, marital rights and financial responsibilities may be addressed in a proceeding for legal separation, without dissolving the marriage.
